Training & Certification for Awak Khusus Angkutan Barang Berbahaya (AKBB) is mandatory for Human Resources (HR) in the industry engaged in TANK VEHICLE transport services (logistics transportation) carrying Dangerous Goods, especially the transport crew (drivers and backup drivers).
This is stipulated in the Ministerial Regulation Number 77 of 2021 concerning the Competence of Human Resources for Road Transport of Dangerous Goods.
By participating in Awak Khusus Angkutan Barang Berbahaya (AKBB), it is expected that the transport crew (drivers and backup drivers) will be competent and hold competency certification as Special Crew for Dangerous Goods Transport, and most importantly, demonstrate safe driving behavior when carrying Dangerous Goods.
- Participants will be able to understand the risks, classification of Dangerous Goods, and compatibility of Dangerous Goods
- Able to apply placards and understand packaging labels of Dangerous Goods on vehicles
- Know and be skilled in emergency response procedures for special hazardous materials during emergencies, including first aid, fire handling, spill handling on the road, road safety, use of protective equipment, and written instructions
- Understand general information about responsibilities in transporting Dangerous Goods
- Have knowledge and skills regarding the procedures for transporting, loading, and unloading Dangerous Goods
- Able to understand the handling procedures for transporting explosives, radioactive materials, and Dangerous Goods materials using tank vehicles in accordance with applicable regulations
